Infectious Diseases

Infectious diseases are caused by pathogenic microorganisms, such as bacteria, viruses, parasites or fungi, and the diseases can be spread, directly or indirectly, from one person to another. The germs that cause these diseases can be spread by touching, sexual contact, kissing and/or eating, drinking, or breathing something that contains a germ. Some infectious diseases, however, are transmitted via bites from insects or animals. Many infectious diseases can be prevented by vaccines and basic hygiene methods, such as regular hand washing.

Each infectious disease has its own specific signs and symptoms as well as treatment options. Click on the links to the left to learn more about some of the more common infectious diseases we treat at InfectiousCare.
